CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE: Due to production issues this item is now unavailable until the week commencing 10th June 2019.
Dogs catch lungworm from eating slugs and snails, and licking the snail trails that carry the larvae of the lungworm parasite.
Even if your dog doesn’t eat them, simply licking or eating grass, playing with a toy or bone left outside, or drinking from a water bowl where a slug or snail has passed by is enough to ingest lungworm eggs.
Watering your garden – grass and soil – with Nemaslug every six weeks will kill slugs and snails and so reduce the risk of your dog becoming infested with lungworm.
Unlike slug pellets, Nemaslug is organic and environmentally friendly.
Please note: Nemaslug cannot be shipped overseas, including France, due to it being a live product.
Nemaslug will not harm:
Songbirds, hedgehogs, frogs, toads and some insects love to feed on slugs and their eggs. The presence of these predators in your garden can have a significant impact on your slug population too. Nemaslug contains nematodes which occur naturally in soil and will not harm slug eaters.
- Works even in wet weather unlike slug pellets
- Kills snails and their eggs above and below ground
- Environmentally friendly
- Encourages wildlife which also love to eat slugs and snails
How does Nemaslug work?
Nemaslug® contains millions of microscopic beneficial nematodes that occur naturally in your soil. They are invisible to the naked eye and come as a powder, which is mixed with water and applied to the soil where they search out and invade the slugs. As the nematodes invade the slug, it will stop feeding and will burrow underground to die. As it decomposes in the soil, the nematodes are released back into the soil to search out more slugs and the whole process starts again.
When to use:
Nemaslug® works at temperatures above 5c/40f, so apply every six weeks all year round until the weather gets too cold.
How to apply:
Simply mix the harmless powder with water and apply to soil and grass, and around plants, using a watering can fitted with a rose or a hose-end feeder. Use the whole pack at once, before the expiry date, which is marked on the inside of the pack and will be at least a couple of weeks. Apply in a broad band on grass and around your plants to increase the chances of slugs coming into contact with the nematodes.
How is it sent?
We send Nemaslug directly to you from our supplier, the largest in the UK. This ensures the freshest nematodes with the longest expiry dates.
Nemaslug® is a perishable, living product, so it is sent out fresh by Royal Mail 1st class post. Being a perishable, living product, it must be used before the expiry date (which is marked on the inside of the pack and will be at least 2 weeks) and it must be stored in the fridge until it is needed. Once opened, the contents do not keep, so it must be used in one day - do NOT store the made up solution or powder. 1 or 2 packs will go through your letterbox and should be popped in the fridge as soon as possible - they are fine on the doormat while you are at work. N.B. large orders e.g. 3 or more of the large packs will not fit through the letterbox, so someone will need to be in to receive it.
BECAUSE THIS IS A FRESH PRODUCT ONLY ORDER MORE THAN TWO PACKS IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN TO RECEIVE THEM. WE WILL NOT RESEND OR REFUND FOR PACKS NOT COLLECTED OR WAITING AT THE POST DELIVERY OFFICE FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS.
